Norwich Museum – rhino horn thief jailed

For his part in the attempted theft of a rhino horn from Norwich Castle Museum, Nihad Mahmod, an illegal immigrant in the UK, has been jailed for two and a half years by Recorder Peter Jacobs.

The accused and three other men, who have not been traced, were seen forcing a display cabinet containing the rhino head at the museum on February 20th this year.

Rhino horn is a highly valuable commodity and one can fetch as much as £500,000 on the international black market.
