Norfolk Wildlife Trust Reopening

Norfolk Wildlife Trust Reopening

Cley Marshes Sign

Below is part of an email received from the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

Roadmap to reopening

“In light of the Government’s ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown, we are pleased to confirm that all Norfolk Wildlife Trust visitor centres will reopen on 12 April with the same Covid measures in place as last year. We will be able to provide takeaway refreshments and visitors will be able to use outside seating for refreshments.

Our boat trips at Ranworth and Hickling broads will commence on 12 April with a maximum of two households per trip (including any members of a social support bubble).

On 17 May we plan to re-open indoor seating at the centres for those having refreshments, and to re-start engagement activities and our events programme in line with social contact restrictions. Please keep an eye on the What’s On section on the website for up to date details on which events are taking place. Our season of Cley Calling Digital events continues this month with Roy Dennis.

We are continuing to review when hides will reopen and we will provide more information later this month. For all the updates, please visit our Covid webpage. All plans will be subject to any changes announced by Government during this period but we look forward to seeing you back with us soon.”

The reopening is pleasing news for me as I have greatly missed being able to visit the North Norfolk reserve at Cley. If you are coming to North Norfolk when we are free again please call at one of the visitor centres. The Trust has suffered from a loss of income that will have affected conservation work. Income from sales at the visitor centres are a vital part of that income so please call in for refreshment and browse the shop. Every pound that you spend will aid the work of the Trust.
