Rocky Bottoms Seafood Restaurant
Delicious Seafood at Rocky Bottoms Restaurant West Runton
Cafe or restaurant? Rocky Bottoms hasn’t quite decided yet. That is not a criticism, as this new seafood venue just off the coast road between East and West Runton is excellent. Just don’t plan a romantic candlelit dinner with wine because Rocky Bottoms isn’t that kind of place – yet. No doubt a liquor licence will be issued shortly and a good selection of wine and beers to accompany the fantastic locally sourced lobster, crab and fish will certainly give the place a lift.
The setting is ideal. With unobstructed views out to sea and open agricultural land on each side you couldn’t imagine a more relaxing spot to enjoy Norfolk’s best seafood. The conversion of the old brick kiln/agricultural building has been completed very tastefully with some of the original interior brickwork being retained. The design of the modern exterior is excellent and the terraced area is perfect for al fresco dining while enjoying the views and the cooling Norfolk sea breeze.
The choice available is not large but the food is well prepared, very fresh and extremely tasty. There is also a fresh fish counter where you can buy some of the local seafood to take home.
Rocky Bottoms has a Facebook page and a website is under construction. There are already several positive reviews on Trip Advisor.
Where is it?
Take the coast road from Cromer and Rocky Bottoms is just through the village of East Runton on the right. The entrance is well signed.
