I have received an email from North Norfolk’s BIRDscapes Gallery at Glandford regarding its reopening.
“Hello from BIRDscapes,
We are really pleased that with the Covid situation seeming to be improving daily, we will soon be able to welcome you back to BIRDscapes and our new Spring Exhibition.
We will be opening at 11am on Saturday 24th April with an exhibition devoted to the joys of spring, which will continue until Sunday 16th May. We are all looking forward to welcoming you again if you are able to visit at some stage. Our usual Covid precautions will be in place so we hope you’ll feel safe whilst you relax and enjoy our first exhibition of 2021!
Best wishes
Steve, Liz and all at BIRDscapes”
I am pleased to say that BIRDscapes at Glandford is opening an exhibition on the 1st of August featuring the works of David Cowdry.
“As we have already trailed, on the 1st of August we are extremely pleased, and relieved, to be welcoming David Cowdry back to BIRDscapes. As you will see from the invitation (click here to view) it will not be an “opening” in the usual sense of such occasions, and we will have to keep a close eye on the number of people that we have in the gallery at any one time.
For those reluctant to travel away from home, David’s new pictures, sized to be roughly in proportion to each other, can be seen by clicking here. Any of David’s paintings may be bought by telephoning the gallery 15 minutes after midday, on Saturday August 1st when the exhibition opens, and paying over the phone. We will send out the prices as soon as we receive them.
We hope that we may see many of you over the fortnight of the exhibition, as David has a very keen following. Alternatively, you may prefer to book a visit by appointment on a Wednesday, when the gallery will otherwise be closed. We do understand that life is not that easy for some at the moment and we hope you are all well.
Best wishes,
Liz, Steve and the rest of the BIRDscapes team.”
I have received the following email from Steve and Liz at BIRDscapes Gallery at Glandford nr Holt, North Norfolk. As the name suggests the gallery features ornithological art of high quality.
“Hello from BIRDscapes,
We are so pleased to be opening on Saturday July 18th from 11am-4pm. We look forward to meeting old friends and welcoming new customers, but of course it can’t be business quite as before. Nevertheless we hope that a visit will still be an uplifting and inspiring experience: some light relief from all that is not so good at the moment.
We have a new entrance from the courtyard, with sanitiser dispenser, and we have instituted a one-way system where possible. We are asking visitors to keep to 2m distancing and to put on a mask before entering the gallery. We will be regulating the number of people in the gallery at any one time, so please be patient and respectful of other visitors.
For the time being we will be closing on Wednesdays, but will be open the other 6 days of the week from 11am till 4pm.
We really look forward to welcoming you to the gallery again, and let’s hope that things will only get better!
Best wishes
Steve and Liz “

What could be nicer than enjoying a coffee and cake in the Glandford Bistro and then wandering into BIRDscapes next door to look at the wonderful paintings. I do it regularly and thoroughly recommend the practice.
