Norfolk’s population increase

Norfolk’s population increase

The number of individuals residing in the County of Norfolk now totals 857,900.  All of the council districts show an increase over the last decade and following the national trend there are more elderly people living in Norfolk than ever before.

Individual households now number some 372,000 – up from 343,000.  Each household averages out at between two and three occupants.

There was a particular increase in the number of over 65s in North Norfolk.  This is not surprising of course as it is such a popular area in which to live during retirement.
