Emma Hedgecoe studied at the Norfolk Institute of Art and Design where she obtained a Bachelor of Art Degree before moving on to the Royal Academy Schools in London. Her studies led to a Postgraduate Diploma in painting and she was successful in obtaining scholarships from RTZ and the Leverhulme Trust. She also won the prestigious Celia Walker prize. Now based in North Norfolk, Emma is busy creating her own work and also teaches in several local art groups. …
The village of Happisburgh has been fighting a battle with the North Sea for several years now. The coastal erosion is ongoing and many of the clifftop dwellings have now been demolished or have gone over the cliff to their final resting place on the beach below.

Alan Partridge is coming to Cromer in North Norfolk to make his latest film. His visit will mean that Cromer’s iconic pier will have to be closed whilst filming takes place. When asked about the disruption to local life that his visit will cause he said: “I simply don’t care. Children fishing for crabs off the pier and visitors idly sitting eating fish and chips from Mary Jane’s cannot come before art.”
Spend a day at the National Trust’s Felbrigg Park in North Norfolk. It makes for a very rewarding day out. The walled garden is exceptional and there is very good walking in the Great Wood and by the lake. All the usual National Trust facilities are available at Felbrigg Hall.
Journey times on the A11 from Norwich to Barton Mills will be significantly reduced when the dualling of the road is completed in 2014.
