Norwich City College plans approved for new creative arts building

A new centre for the study of the creative arts is to be built on the Ipswich road site of Norwich City College.  The three-storey building will have facilities for rehearsals, state-of-the-art media suites and a TV studio.

Costing almost £6 million pounds the new centre should be opened in the autumn of 2013.  A third of the money is to be provided by a grant from the Skills Funding Agency.

The College Principal Mr Dick Palmer is quoted as saying: “The new building will provide an inspiring, modern new environment to prepare students for the many career opportunities available to them in the creative and cultural sector.”

This new building will certainly be a great asset to all the Norwich arts and media students in the years ahead and is seen as a very positive development in the field of education for Norfolk.
