Throughout July and August a series of paintings by the Cromer based artist Lizzie Riches are displayed in the Long Gallery at Blickling Hall near Aylsham. These paintings form the basis of a treasure hunt devised by Colin Rawlings of the Red Dot Gallery in Holt.

Norfolk County Council has revealed plans to update the interior and some of the exterior of its headquarters, the 50-year old County Hall. It is estimated that the total cost will be in the region of £22 million pounds. This is a long-term project that will be ongoing over the next 25 years.

Norfolk’s economy is still stagnating to a certain extent. A report just published indicated that manufacturers based in the County have experienced a definite slow down in orders. Export sales have also been less than encouraging.

The Lifeboat Café is at the bottom of The Gangway opposite the RNLI Museum and the Rocket House Café. There are several tables outside that can be in great demand when the sun shines. If you arrive early you can breakfast while the crab boats are landing and watch the fishermen sorting the catch.

A Norfolk police officer whilst off duty was canoeing on the Little Ouse at Brandon, Suffolk when he discovered a body. It was badly decomposed and had been caught up in tree roots under the riverbank.
